The BOOreaucrats are two middle-aged administrators bumbling around in search of the truth of things. In an abandoned site at the edge of a river, these men in suits lose their documents to ‘a sudden gust of wind’! Set against a backdrop where industry meets wilderness, the 19th century location could be Fort Lytton on the Brisbane River. Referencing the famous Hokusai print of 1832 and with a nod to photographer Jeff Wall’s 1993 photographic homage, The BOOreaucrats continue their out of place bumbling while nodding to the cyclical nature of history and the bureaucracies that gatekeep our stories.
