Cultural Burning, also known as Cool Burning, is a traditional Aboriginal land management practice that has been used for over 60,000 years.
Cultural Burning aims to reduce fire hazards, facilitate the growth of plants and protect native wildlife already living on Country.
The continuation of the practice helps keep culture alive as the knowledge is shared across generations and it connects members of Community to each other and the ancestral lands.
Through the sharing of knowledge and culture it is my aim that all people can not only be intrigued by indigenous culture but can also start to appreciate the role we all play in acknowledging First Nations people.
