Clean up continues
The beach clean-up continues this weekend, after polystyrene balls washed up on Alexandra Headland, Maroochydore and Cotton Tree beaches, and along the Maroochy River last Friday (November 3, 2023).
Thank-you to all the community groups and volunteers for your invaluable help so far.
Council’s beach tractor will also be sweeping the beach across the weekend.
Correct disposal essential
Council will dispose of the polystyrene balls via a sealed bag so the loose balls don’t escape into the environment again.
The cause of the spill is still being investigated.
